Maldon & Dengie Wedding Photographer

The Maldon area & the Dengie Peninsula.
Almost an island.

For a rural wedding in a part of Essex rich with history and nature.

There is so much to say about this area of Essex, especially considering that this county is often misunderstood. From the stark, breathtaking wilderness of the farthest-reaching salt marshes, which hold the status of an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty,’ to the rich historical landmarks, there’s a wealth of interesting details to explore.

One notable example is the Chapel of St. Peter-on-the-Wall in Bradwell-on-Sea, dating back to 654 AD, which makes it one of the oldest Christian churches in England. It’s a fascinating piece of our local history, and it’s definitely worth mentioning on our website.
Additionally, you can find a write-up about this historic chapel in a blog post by Gillian Darley on The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings’ website.

Anyway, I should be focusing on my Maldon wedding photography, so let’s get back on track. There’s another church in Bradwell-on-Sea where I’ve had the pleasure of photographing weddings.

Just a short distance away, there’s a new venue called Highfield, which recently opened its doors. I had the honour of photographing the owners’ wedding many years ago, and I’m looking forward to the weddings I have booked in the coming years.Highfield offers rare views over the River Blackwater, which is famous for being the home of Radio Caroline. This makes it a truly unique venue in Essex.

I live right on the border of the Dengie area in South Woodham Ferrers by the River Crouch. Maldon is just 20 minutes away and North Fambridge just down the road, both filming locations for The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry on Apple TV+.

My documentary wedding photography style seems to suit these very relaxed weddings out in the country, in small rural churches, on vineyards, and farms.
And followed up by the most amazing parties!
