Lindsay & Charles: A Sun-Kissed June Wedding in Fife

I had so much fun shooting this wedding, and for me it all began with a road trip. The journey took me all the way from Essex to Fife for the wedding of Lindsay and Charles, nearly 500 miles. (yes, I do have that song in my head now). This marks the furthest distance I’ve driven for a wedding, which says a lot because I often travel outside Essex to document weddings.

I was blessed with fantastic weather welcoming me to Scotland, not just for the scenic drive north, but the wedding day itself was warm and sunny. The perfect weather for a garden wedding. The only time I encountered rain was on my drive back over the Firth of Forth. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the bridges; I’m a bit of a civil engineering fan.

My flexible and laid-back approach to photographing weddings is particularly well-suited to events held outside traditional venues. I believe this is why I am often booked for weddings at family homes, with marquees set up in beautiful gardens. It allows me to work in a unique way and explore different parts of the UK. Every day is distinct, and every view is a new experience.

This was one of those weddings, featuring a church ceremony in Kilconquhar and a garden reception in Elie, Fife. The family dogs very much included in the day, a horse watched the bridal prep through the kitchen door.. the best man did a valiant job of his duties considering he had food poisoning.

So many moments I could tell you about, but it’s best told through my pictures!
