George & Catrina’s Thaxted Parish Church Wedding

The rain turned to sun on this jubilee weekend Saturday, perfect timing for Catrina and George to get married at Thaxted Parish Church.
St. John the Baptist with Our Lady and St. Laurence is a church with a fascinating past, Gustav Holst played the organ in this very church! Was choirmaster, and wrote the infamous The Planets whilst living in Thaxted in Essex.
It was an emotional and happy ceremony, as they took their vows in such a beautiful church.

The rest of the day was spent at the groom’s family farm home, drinks and games in the garden, dinner and dancing in the barn. A very chilled out day with lots of playing and laughter.
Something George and Catrina have ahead of them, as they are expecting their first child. I can see them taking it all in their stride!

Thanks to all the indie rock covers from the band Alive the evening ended with a packed dance floor, many air guitars, and some questionable moves!
